It has definitely been a whirlwind since leaving Toronto. The Toronto traffic is as the meme floating around says…Toronto to Toronto – 2 hours. I truly don’t know how people keep up in this city, and I’m not picking on Toronto specifically, it really just is too much, and I don’t know how, on a regular basis, people do it.
The family dropped me at Pearson International and I found my way pretty quickly to the queue. Surprise! It was chaotic and while fairly quick to figure out, seemed a bit daunting with no clear messaging on where to go or where to line up. The crowds were weaving back and forth searching for agents to help. This line, that line. I had checked in online thinking it would be quicker, I don’t think it saved any steps. Went through security and I ended up going through it twice because I didn’t take certain things out of my carry-on that required separate scanning. IE: tablet, medication, electronics. The guard at the start mumbled a few things, with all the people and so much noise it was hard to hear. So, back I went.

I found my way to our gate area pretty quick, where I waited for my friend Leslie, to fly in from Sudbury. This area was very crowded with delayed flights and people going in all directions. I finally found a seat next to the escalators where I could keep an eye out for my friend. I messaged Leslie to say where to find me.
While there, offered the other seat at the table to a man, Scott, who is from Vernon, BC who was heading to Amsterdam. He was meeting his girlfriend then heading to Switzerland too. Leslie found me and then we had an interesting, conversation where we discovered he works for a kraft pickle company called BC Brine out of Falkland, BC. We love pickles, so check them out.
After boarding, I was surprised at the seating on the plane. Nothing special, fairly crowded. The crew were great, but there was turbulence the whole trip, so we had to be seated almost the entire time. No coffee!!! Anyway, all is well in the world. We landed on time, waited a bit for our luggage and found our driver quite easily. Day one to continue…Travel with Murdoc.

Sounds like a great adventure, looking forward to following your trip, Vic and Evelyn
